I'm not sure if you can tell by now, but I have a subscription to Food Network Magazine. It's where I get a lot of the recipes that I post. This month's issue was all about Italian food.
I love Italian food! Pasta, cheese, yummy sauces... I couldn't wait to dive in and find some delicious recipes for my family. I quickly found two (so far)... and they passed the Avie test!
Side note: I prefer to find food in the "Weeknight cooking" section because, let's be honest, I don't have a ton of time to putz around in the kitchen these days.
Meatballs! Very easy recipe contains mashed potatoes, mushrooms... and meatballs. The only change I made to this recipe was using 1/2 cup of white wine and 1/2 cup of chicken broth, in place of the Marsala wine (which is red). Avie ate this with a side of steamed broccoli because I always want to get her those veggies!
I try to buy grass fed and/or pasture raised meats when possible. I have yet to blog about this topic, because I'm still learning, but the premise is all about natural, clean eating.
BAKED SPINACH RAVIOLI
What's easier than a package of refrigerated ravioli and thawed, frozen spinach in a cheesy sauce? Nothing.
Avie is an odd kiddo and isn't a fan of old fashioned mac and cheese- which is totally fine with me- but, she will eat a more "gourmet" version like this one. Again, I try to eat clean and natural when possible, so I go for the cheese made from grass-fed cows. It IS more expensive, but that's really the only adjustment I made here.
