Parfait

My little Avie is on yet another antibiotic. I think I've lost count of how many times she has had to take one- but I guess it's par for the course with Cystic Fibrosis. Anyway, I'm back on the gut-health battle ground and pushing probiotics.

It's a bit harder this time and I think it's because she really doesn't feel very good. Her appetite isn't where it usually is. The one thing that she rarely refuses is yogurt, but even getting her to eat THAT becomes a struggle these days.

So I started doctoring it up with honey, fresh fruit, chopped walnuts, etc... and then it dawned on me that my Mother had tried a "build your own bowl" trick with Avie's oatmeal one morning, and I could do the same with her yogurt.

Simply place one big bowl of plain yogurt in front of your tot, and put little bowls on the side of granola, fruits, raisins, nuts or whatever you want to top their yogurt with. Then stand back and watch them create their own healthy breakfast or snack.
